Over 8.6: Bowled him! D Steyn to Murali Vijay, pitched up delivery, poor judgement, leaves a 138 kmph inswinger which as predicted comes into hit the off stump. VJ wasn't looking that confident about himself since the last ball and now he is gone caught unawares of what the bowler was doing.

Over 14.1: He is Caught! D Steyn to S Tendulkar, pitched up delivery, lures him into the cover drive with a late outswinger which swings away just enough to catch a feather edge for the keeper. Beautiful bowling, curling the ball in at a juicy length and swinging it away late at top speed.

Over 58.1: He is Caught! D Steyn to S Badrinath, good length delivery, flicks the sharp inswinger straight into the hands of short mid wicket!!

Over 4.4: He is Caught! D Steyn to V Sehwag, good length delivery, slashes at the wide outswinger and the thick outside edge is softly caught by Smith at first slip!

Over 105.1: Out LBW! D Steyn to W Saha, good length delivery, just plants his frontfoot forward and across the stumps totally along the wrong line as it was an inswinger that was heading towards middle to strike the middle of the pad! Steyn had replaced Harris.Â

Over 107.1: Bowled him! D Steyn to Amit Mishra, good length delivery, doesn't move his feet at all and gets cleaned up by sheer pace to have his furniture disturbed. That's a 10-wicket haul for Steyn! South Africa win by an innings and 6 runs.

So that is the end of the first Test at Nagpur with South Africa inflicting an innings defeat to the hosts. The heroes of the match are the trio of Jacques Kallis, Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn. Hmm its going to be a very difficult situation to name the Man of the Match between Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn. Perhaps both of them will be sharing the award.

India went in with an under strength team, it was without three world class batsmen and the last minute injury to Rohit Sharma further depleted the middle order. This is the first loss for MS Dhoni in Test Matches.

Hashim Amla is the Man of the Match. Well I would have loved to see that go to Dale Steyn because it was not a bowler friendly pitch to be honest and for a fast bowler to take 10 wickets is an incredible feat. Nevertheless, the bottom line is that SA are 1-0 up and cannot lose the series from here. India have only one opporunity at Kolkata to draw this Series.
